6-week Ashtanga Mysore program with guest teacher Luis de Llano (authorised L2)

From mid-May to the end of June we have guest teacher Luis de Llano in the Neukölln studio: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00-11:30

Luis offers a Mysore-style class. Do you want to start, return, maintain, or advance your Ashtanga Yoga practice? Then this class is for you! We will practice the Ashtanga Yoga method, focusing on the Tristana: asana, breath, and drishti. You are welcome if you already know the series or if you don't know what is meant by "knowing the series". Just come as you are!

Ashtanga Yoga uses a series of postures. In the Mysore-style class, every person will go at their own rhythm and will have a different set of asanas that they will be working on. Together, we will create a silent space suitable for concentration and self-observation. Luis will be there holding the space, helping you learn the sequence, and giving you thoughtful and consented adjustments.

BOOKING

You can drop-in any time with the regular class cards from Dharma Studios. By exception we are opening this class for USC members as well.

ABOUT LUIS

Luis was born in Caracas, Venezuela. The first time he practised āsana was in his mother's womb; he later discovered that his maternal grandma was also practising āsanas following a book. He regained touch with Yoga in 2011. In 2012, he started his Ashtanga Yoga journey, which has taken him to various locations worldwide, where he has taught and assisted in different settings. He received Sharath Jois' authorisation in 2022. He practices mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition, where he has found simple yet powerful practices that have influenced his life and teaching.

Luis practices to be happy and healthy. Developing discipline and compassion are powerful elements that have transformed his life. When he is teaching he is interested in holding a silent space for each person to connect with themselves. He believes it is fundamental to recognise and share emotions. He encourages consensual adjustments and emphasises flexibility in āsana practice.
