  • Born and raised in Bavaria, Germany, Mona’s path has taken her across different countries, including longer periods living in the USA and the Netherlands. During her twelve years of military service, she discovered yoga as a way to find balance, resilience, and inner steadiness within the demands of everyday life.

Her practice is rooted in Hatha Raja Yoga and follows a disciplined yet contemplative approach that integrates physical practice with inner inquiry. Mona is a certified 700-hour Life of a Yogi teacher in the Dharma Yoga lineage and is currently continuing her studies towards the 1,000-hour Life of a Yogi certificate under the guidance of Sri Dharma Mittra.

Her main teacher is Sri Dharma Mittra, and the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh have deeply influenced her understanding of yoga as a path of mindfulness, compassion, and ethical living. As a dedicated vegan, she strives to live these values both on and off the mat.

In her teaching, Mona emphasizes asana, pranayama, and meditation, inviting students to practice with sincerity, patience, and self-awareness. Her classes offer space to respect individual limits while cultivating clarity, balance, and a calm, meditative mind.

  • In this intermediate to advanced class, I invite you to deepen your practice within the traditional teachings of Dharma Yoga, held in a steady and supportive community. This class is for practitioners with prior yoga experience who feel called to explore their practice with more depth, patience, and awareness.

The class is offered as a community practice, in the spirit of accessibility and shared commitment. It is donation-based if needed.

In our practice, we weave together strength, steadiness, and inner awareness through asana, structured pranayama, concentration, and meditation. We work with longer holds and a mindful exploration of balancing postures, backbends, twists, and inversions always approached with awareness, patience, and respect for individual limits.

Pranayama is an essential part of the practice and is introduced progressively, supporting purification, nervous-system balance, and deeper concentration. Throughout the class, the emphasis is not on achievement or performance, but on sincerity, presence, and cultivating a calm, meditative attitude.

We close with relaxation, pranayama, and meditation, allowing the practice to settle and supporting balance in the body, clarity of mind, and steadiness of heart.

Recommended for intermediate practitioners and dedicated students; not suitable for absolute beginners.
